Overview
Description:
This advanced 5-day course focuses on building accurate and geologically consistent static reservoir models for fractured carbonate reservoirs. Participants will learn how to integrate seismic, well, core, image logs, and fracture data to construct structurally sound 3D models that capture both matrix and fracture system properties. Emphasis is placed on dual-porosity dual-permeability concepts, fracture characterization, and the challenges of heterogeneity in carbonate rocks (e.g., vugs, stylolites, karst).
The course blends theory with practical exercises using real-world case studies and introduces participants to geostatistical and deterministic techniques for modeling fracture networks, porosity, permeability, and saturation in complex carbonate environments.
