Overview
This intensive 5-day course equips geoscientists, geophysicists, and reservoir engineers with the theory and practical skills to build accurate velocity models, perform robust time-to-depth conversions, and rigorously assess uncertainties in velocity and depth mapping. Participants will learn how to build 1D, 2D, and 3D velocity models, integrate well data and seismic velocities, quantify depth uncertainties, and assess the impact on structural maps, volumetrics, and reservoir risk.
Hands-on exercises and real-world examples will guide participants in best practices for velocity model building and highlight the pitfalls of neglecting uncertainties.
