Overview
Description:
This 5-day intensive course provides geoscientists and reservoir engineers with practical knowledge and hands-on skills in building 3D static reservoir models for both clastic and carbonate systems. Participants will learn the principles of geological modeling workflows, from structural frameworks and facies modeling to petrophysical property distribution and model validation. Emphasis is placed on the differences between clastic and carbonate reservoirs, incorporating depositional and diagenetic complexities, and preparing models for dynamic simulation.
Through exercises using real datasets, attendees will gain experience in integrating seismic, core, and log data, choosing appropriate modeling techniques for different reservoir types, and managing uncertainties to create reliable reservoir models that support field development planning and reserves estimation.
